How to Enroll

If you are a college student, or a graduating high school student, and are attending, or wish to attend, any of the academic institutions below and you also meet the minimum eligibility requirements, then you are eligible to enroll in the Aerospace Studies & Leadership Laboratory courses for AFROTC Detachment 850.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements-

    • Enrolled full time (12+credit hours) in an accredited college that hosts or has a crosstown agreement with our Air Force ROTC detachment
    • A United States citizen (if on scholarship).
    • In good physical condition.
    • Of good moral character.
    • 14 years or older (17 years old to receive a scholarship).
    • Committed to attending both the aerospace studies class and Leadership Lab each semester.

Which U of U AFROTC Courses do I Enroll In?               

To find out which AFROTC courses you should be enrolled in answer question 1 FIRST.  If question 1 does not relate to you, proceed to question 2. REMEMBER! If you wish to be an AFROTC cadet the program requires that you be enrolled in 12+ semester credit hours.  The Aerospace Study courses below count towards that requirement.

Question 1:

Do you have 30 or less semester hours or 4 years remaining to complete your bachelors degree?  If yes, determine which semester, fall or spring, that will you be joining AFROTC.  If no, proceed to question 2.

Fall Semester Enrollment, register for both courses below:

1. AEROS 1010-001 USAF Foundations (1)

2. AEROS 1110-001 General Military Leadership Lab I (1)

Spring Semester Enrollment, register for both courses below:

1. AEROS 1011-001 Foundations of USAF II (1)

2. AEROS 1111-001 General Military Leadership Lab II (1)

Question 2: 

Are you prior military?
Do have junior or senior ROTC experience? 
Were you enrolled with Civil Air Patrol? 

If you answered "No" to all three questions above please contact us prior to signing up for classes.  Otherwise, if you answered yes to one of the above questions and have 30 or more semester hours or 3-3.5 years remaining to complete your bachelors degree determine which semester, fall or spring, that will you be joining AFROTC.

Fall Semester Enrollment, register for all three courses below:

2. AEROS 2010-001   Airpower History I (1)

3. AEROS 2110-001 General Military Leadership Lab III (1)

Which Weber State AFROTC Courses Do I Enroll In? 

To find out which AFROTC courses you should be enrolled in answer question 1 FIRST.  If question 1 does not relate to you, proceed to question 2. REMEMBER! If you wish to be an AFROTC cadet the program requires that you be enrolled in 12+ semester credit hours.  The Aerospace Study courses below count towards that requirement.  Note: there are two ROTC Detachments assigned to Weber State University.  Ensure that you sign up for the appropriate ones based off the instructors for the University of Utah.  If you do not know the instructors, please visit the Faculty Page located here
